The course aims to deliver the essential elements on how sustainable communities are built with the grassroots development approach, in order to qualify and expand business practice in promoting sustainable communities.
The course will take place in a virtual environment and includes four learning units with which participants are expected to work around:

  • Unit 1: Articulation and dialogue spaces for the promotion of sustainable communities.
  • Unit 2: Generation of agreements and construction of shared visions of territory.
  • Unit 3: Conditions for the development of sustainable communities
  • Unit 4: Actions to promote sustainable communities.

The course will be developed through experiences that support the concepts of each unit, this review will be accompanied by an individual reflective process. This reflection seeks for the student to connect the concepts with her personal experience, enrich himself with the experiences of others, in this case the examples, and produce references that support him in his professional work. Additionally, in each of the units the student will have access to an illustrated glossary, which will help them review key concepts of the promotion of sustainable communities with a grassroots approach.

Understand the essential elements of how sustainable communities are built with the grassroots development approach, in order to qualify and expand business practice in promoting sustainable communities.

  • Management teams, technicians and coordinators of companies, business foundations and institutes.
  • Teams of companies, business foundations and institutes in charge of relations with communities.
  • Teams of companies, business foundations and institutes in charge of the formulation and implementation of social initiatives and/or development of the communities and the territory.

  • The course was developed by Margareth Flórez and Paola Zuniga, based on the contents of Rodrigo Villar.
  • The methodology of the course is self-contained (autonomous learning) and in this sense it does not require the accompaniment of a tutor or professor.
