Santo Domingo, R. D. - June 16, 2020 - The Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and the Popular Foundation, within the framework of the "Alejandro E. Grullón E." Sustainability Chair, held the webinar on the Dialogue on Corporate Social Responsibility: Digitization and sustainability in the business, with the participation of Mr. Manuel Alejandro Grullón Hernández, president of the Dominican Association of Fintech Companies (ADOFINTECH), Mr. Alejandro Fernández W., managing director of Argentarium, and Mr. Isael Peña, vice president of digital Banking of the Bank Dominican folk.
Mr. Manuel Alejandro Grullón Hernández, businessman and entrepreneur, promoter of the Fintech movement and promoter of financial inclusion in the Dominican Republic, expressed “for me this moment of digitization has been necessary. We had the technologies, we have had many of the tools that we are using today, which before we could consider to be good to have, are now essential”.
For his part, Mr. Alejandro Fernández W., an economist, highlighted “I believe that digitization has obviously allowed greater non-face-to-face operations. Let's be clear, staying at home does not mean that the footprint disappears completely, but if it is reduced, I would say in general terms the individual footprint, and that can benefit the environment and the social environment.
In his speech, Mr. Isael Peña concluded that "Covid-19 has taught us that we are all on the same level in terms of caring for the planet, and that the circular economy must be supported by digitization."
