PUCMM joins the Voluntare network

 

Santo Domingo, R.D.- The “Alejandro E. Grullón E.” Sustainability Chair, of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and Fundación Popular, organized a training meeting on the theme “Corporate volunteering and the Telefónica volunteer model”.

During the dialogue that took place within the framework of the Master's Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, double degree with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Spain, the director of the Chair, Angye Rincón, announced that with the purpose of promote the expansion and professionalization of CSR in the Dominican Republic, the Mother and Teacher joins the Voluntare network.

"Importance of corporate volunteering and presentation of the Voluntare network" was the title of the presentation by Juan Ángel Poyatos, founder of the organization, who described volunteering as "the channel through which employees participate in solidarity initiatives of the company". In addition, he pondered that it is a tool to attract talent, since more and more human resources care about what the organization is doing for its community.

Meanwhile, Carlos Palacios, responsible for Social Action and Volunteering at Fundación Telefónica, was in charge of the "Volunteering Presentation of Telefónica", in which he stated: "when we talk about volunteering we have to find the way in which each one wants to participate ». Likewise, he stressed that volunteering cannot be separated from the rest of the social actions.

The activity, which also included the participation of Elías Dinzey, general manager of Fundación Popular, took place on Friday, July 23, 2021, and was broadcast through a virtual platform.
