Within the framework of the Master in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, the graduates of the second cohort participated in the course "Success Stories and Good Practices of Social Responsibility in Spain", as part of the international technical visit organized by the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (UPV) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).
The graduates of the second cohort of this master's degree, a pioneer in the country, participated in seminars given by directors of companies and organizations recognized for their good Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices.
Among the institutions represented, the following stand out: the Valencia Stock Exchange, the ESPURNA Special Employment Center, the BANCAJA Foundation, the Business Association of Residences and Services for Dependent Persons of the Valencian Community, the Port of Valencia, the ÈTNOR Foundation, and the Polytechnic City of Innovation of the UPV.
The closing ceremony and the delivery of diplomas were chaired by Rosa Puchades Pla, Vice-Rector for Social Responsibility and Cooperation at the UPV; Jorge Cordero, consul of the Dominican Republic in Valencia; Gabriel García, director of the Master's degree at the UPV; and Paulo Herrera, Dean of Graduate Studies at the Santo Tomás de Aquino Campus of PUCMM.
Within the framework of this activity, Professor Juan Juliá, former Rector of the UPV and Deputy Vice President of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), gave the conference "Challenges of the university system in the 21st century. A social and economics from the Polytechnic University of Valencia”.
Professor Gabriel García, director of the Master's Degree at the UPV, highlighted that: "It is an enormous satisfaction to contribute to this new training initiative, together with the teachers of the Mother and Teacher, with whom it has been a privilege to share this project and we express our gratitude". While Puchades pointed out that: "A systematic and rigorous training of professionals who have the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities for the responsible management of organizations is essential."
The course, which took place from June 24 to 28, 2019, was coordinated by the UPV's Center for Research in Business Management (CEGEA) and included 30 face-to-face hours of teaching.
About the CSR and Sustainability Master's Degree
Since 2015, within the framework of the Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability "Alejandro E. Grullón E.", the PUCMM and the UPV offer the first Master's program in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability in the country.
The objective of this master's degree is to analyze the concepts and multiple dimensions of CSR and Sustainability, emphasizing the design and application of management and evaluation tools, necessary to implement and integrate CSR and Sustainability at the different levels of a company or organization.
